A new attraction in Gaas, Balamban, Cebu is paving its way to fame. It is the newly opened “Buwakan ni Alejandra”

Located at about 32 kilometers from the city, the charismatic garden is enticing tourists and visitors to conquer the long travel just to witness its glamour.

The name “Buwakan ni Alejandra” (Alejandra’s Flower Farm) was from the Visayan word “buwak” which means “flower” and Alejandra is the name of the mother-in-law of the owner and landscaper, Eleuterio Getapa. The name was given in honor of Alejandra’s love for flowers.

West 35 Eco Mountain Resort

This place is quite far from the City. Since the distance is 35 kilometers from Cebu City, it will take 45 minutes up to 1 hour of travel or drive.
I think it would be nice to go to a place like this if someone wants to have a relaxation of mind, body and soul. And it would be more enjoyable if you spend it together with your family, friends.

According to Cebuano Explorer West 35 Eco Mountain Resort is located at Kilometer 35 (KM 35) Barangay Gaas, Balamban Cebu. West 35 Eco Mountain Resort is a relaxing place surrounded with natural landscape, fresh air, vegetation and mountain ranges. The place is abundant with nutritious and locally grown vegetables. There are different kind of root crops and corns. Majority of people living in the area rely their livelihood through farming, poultry and hog raising.

Mantayupan Falls

Mantayupan Falls, also known as Ambakan Falls, is one of the highest waterfalls in Cebu. The area is composed of two levels. At the first level are three 14-meter high falls. Then by climbing up and crossing the hanging bridge you will reach the second level of the waterfall which is 98 meters high.

How to get there?
If you plan to take the bus at Cebu South Bus Terminal, prepare P70 for the fare and wait 1.5 to 2 hours to get to Barili. When you arrive at the Shamrock Center (Barili town’s mandatory bus stop), find a habal-abal (motorbike) driver and ask him to take you to Mantayupan Falls. (The fare is P30 negotiable).
After like a 5-minute habal-habal ride, you will arrive at the entrance of the falls. There is a fee of about P20 used for the maintenance of the park, so when you’re done paying that fee, you go through the entrance which is adorned with dangling roots. The park has a canteen and grilling station so you could buy and eat food while you picnic near the falls.

Every November 5th, the City of San Carlos in Negros Occidental celebrates its annual Pinta flore Festival. The festival’s name is derived from the Spanish term Pinta, which refers to tattoo, and Flores, flowers. I’ am so happy because it’s my first time to experience this kind of event.

According to icebreakerideas Chubby Bunny is a popular, fun game, frequently played by campers around a campfire. Players put an increasing number of marshmallows in their mouths and attempt to clearly and audibly say the phrase “Chubby Bunny”.  The winner is the person who is able to say the phrase with the most marshmallows in his or her mouth.

The origins of Chubby Bunny have not been discovered; however, the Peanuts comic strip from February 28, 1959 shows Snoopy playing Chubby Bunny.

Rules of Chubby Bunny

  1. If a player spits out a marshmallow, they are eliminated from the game.
  2. Players may not chew their marshmallows up, eat them, or swallow them whole. Players who do so are disqualified.
  3. Players may use fingers to rearrange the marshmallows in their mouths.
  4. Decide before you begin playing if players are allowed to liquefy their marshmallows intentionally with saliva to avoid arguments.
  5. Players must dispose of their marshmallows in a provided trash bag when they are disqualified.
